Hey! My name is Lauren and I love music! Whether it's listening to a good playlist, or dancing in my room, or watching someone play an instrument, or pretending I know how to play an instrument myself- I love it all! I have loved it most of my life, but that love really grew into a passion when I got into high school. I sang in choir, taught myself to play the piano (my absolute favorite instrument, and one of my favorite hobbies) and started learning to play the guitar. My piano skills got good, I still enjoy singing but mostly do it for fun now, and my guitar serves as a nice piece of decor in the corner of my room. :) The only thing I feel I'm missing musically in my life is drums. I'd love to learn to play the drums.   

My favorite music genres tend to range a lot, but consistently it includes new wave, alternative rock, and pop rock- especially during the 1970's-90's. In fact if it's from the year 1970-1999, I probably love it.

                                           Ain't Misbehavin' was a song I remembered enjoying listening to, but also remembered thinking it could potentially be difficult to right about. I'm not sure exactly what those original thoughts were thinking, but this song had many different elements and was as enjoyable to listen to as it was to closely examine. The first thing I noticed was how long it took for lyrics to come into play. It was literally almost an entire minute, which I feel like is actually fairly common but the style of the song is just kind of naturally slower anyway so it felt like quite a bit longer than just one minute. Good Vibrations

                                                                                             Not gonna lie, I was really considering skipping this weeks blog post. But then I remembered that this week had probably my favorite list of songs thus far. I mean for real- some dang good bangers. I was torn between the Supremes' "You Can't Hurry Love" (I love this song and Phil Collins' cover), Chubby Checker's "The Twist" and many more but I ultimately decided to go with the Beach Boys' "Good Vibrations". This song slaps. Honestly, the Beach Boys aren't my favorite.
